A pop up exhibition with four contemporary artists with roots in the Art Academy in Munich.
Over two weekends in June, the board room, known as “Onstad,” will house an exhibition with the artists Stefan Fuchs, Simon Lässig, Philipp Reitsam and Yves Michele Sass, who met at the Art Academy in Munich, Germany. The artists’ work in a range of mediums, such as film, painting, installation and object based projects. Besides their respective artistic careers, they are also the founders of the project room SPREEZ in Munich.
In the early years of HOK’s history, various rooms that were not designated for art were used for artistic projects; Høvik Ballet danced in the lobby, Bærum Movie Club met in what is now a storage on the second floor, Morten Børresen held an opening in the men’s room and Per Inge Bjørlo made his now famous installation of rubber Indre Rom / Inner Room in the basement.
The Board Room was Niels Onstad’s former office and is today used for meetings and seminars. It oversees parts of the sculpture park, Solvik Marina and Sandvika. For the exhibition the artists have been invited by Kenneth Alme to make new site-specific responses.
The exhibition opens Saturday June 18th at 14:00. It will be on view during opening hours Saturday and Sunday 18-19 and 25-26.
