Deli Gallery is pleased to announce “Immortal Duck”, a show of new drawings, sculptures, and performance by Lex Brown. The exhibition is the artist’s first solo show and is a reflection on cycles of defeat and triumph, fun, and the cartoon nature of reality. The exhibition’s title is inspired by the Looney Tunes “Hunting Trilogy,” in which Daffy Duck is shot by Elmer Fudd 18 times, yet remains as persistent and exuberant as ever.

Lex Brown was born in Oakland, CA in 1989. She received her MFA in Sculpture from Yale University and her AB in Art from Princeton University. She has performed and exhibited work at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland, REDCAT Theater and The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the New Museum and International Center of Photography in New York.

Her first work in fiction, “My Wet Hot Drone Summer”, is a sci-fi erotic novella that takes on sex, surveillance, and social justice in the age of climate change, and is available from Badlands Unlimited. This summer and fall, her video “Lip Gloss Alurt”, will be included in the High Line public programming.
