106 Green is pleased to present “Resting Position,” a solo exhibition of new works by Angela Heisch. The exhibition will be open from May 12 – June 10. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, May 12, from 6-8pm. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday from 12-5.
The works in Resting Position are meditations on the performative imperfections, measured accidents and tonal engagements that happen within what at first appear to be balanced, orderly worlds. With sleight of hand ease, they can be visually deceptive, but they don’t aspire to all out trickery. Angela states, “I’m interested in making work that is confrontational, intentionally ordered and uncooperative, as well as inviting, visually sound, and thin-skinned.” If these spaces are stages, they yearn for actors. If they are windows, the landscape outside resist logical perspective. If a game is being played, the rules are unclear.
