Earthy Liquids and Heavy Metal [Hypersleep] unfolds an abstract and mysteriously enigmatic world in which Lisa Seebach’s sculptures appear as agents between post-apocalyptic science fiction, dystopian utopias and post-human aesthetics. Paradoxical scenarios full of associative meta-narratives emerge, blurring the boundaries between the visitor and the non-human sculpture in a fragile balance of materials and meanings. Whether it is pandemics, the climate crisis, or the increase in conflicts and wars, the expectation of an apocalyptic world seems to be growing. But Seebach does not give a direction and her offers are fragile and fleeting. The exhibition becomes a space for action in which the individual objects move between potential threat and possible escape from a dystopia that hints at a future beyond our reach.
