Elâ Atakan is a writer and curator born in Istanbul and based in Amsterdam. She holds a master’s degree in political science and art from Sciences Po Grenoble. Atakan began her curatorial practice at Sabancı Museum, collaborating with Sophie Calle on For the First and the Last Time and contributing to major exhibitions featuring artists such as Joan Miró and Anish Kapoor. She published her debut poetry book Kimsesizliğin Sonu (The End of Solitude) in 2020 and contributes to several art publications, including Art Unlimited and Argonotlar. In recent years, she has curated interdisciplinary exhibitions such as A Momentary Absence (GALERIST, 2023), Stones from the Sea (Dou Print Studio, 2023), and Golden Hour (Versus Art Project, 2022), alongside other solo and group shows across Istanbul and Ankara. She also writes texts for exhibition catalogues.
