After Smoke and Mirrors addresses spiritual and mystical community practices in an attempt to connect us to a regenerative potential for our social and ecological coexistence. The title derives from the essential desire to overcoming a narrative structure delimited by ecological, political and technological crises. The exhibition aims to conceive a decelerated and immersive experience in space, as a vehicle for evoking and reviving vanished, invisible and parallel worlds. It does so by addressing the impact of human activities on the environment and cultural heritage, and the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds, knowledge and its transmission. After Smoke and Mirrors encourages spectators to take more sustainable and environmentally conscious actions, where magic doesn’t solely appear as a metaphysical alternative to the contingencies of the world, but as a possible instrument of resilience. The exhibition thus mediates different forms of resistance and reconciliation, empowering alternative and collective stories to bury a harmful world and reveal a regenerative potential for the future.
