This piece is built from apples as well. Apples and many other crops. Its final form is what papermakers commonly refer to as papyrus. Papyrus is a paper-like material which is made by layering and pressing organic matter together until it fuses in partnership. It is bound by sharing its sugars and natural moisture.

Rather than a substrate for ink, this papyrus serves as its own inscription. A medley of flattened rounds rendered into lines and silhouettes. It’s a work of overlapping circles and stolen shapes from a Long Island antique store – a drawing, a memory spell, a bear covered in apples.
