The Written Skin of the City reveals how the city’s surfaces are continuously written and rewritten through human presence, movement, and decay. Moving fluidly between site-specific investigations and city-scale practices, the project oscillates between the sensory, the functional, and the theoretical. Situated in front of residential estate in South London, the forecourt-like space becomes both a mirror and microcosm of both the community and the wider city. This space serves as the pivot of the project, driving its design intent, framing its site-specific explorations, and offering a rich ground for observation and reflection.
