About the artist:
Constantin Hartenstein is a Berlin-based artist who works at the intersection of technology, queerness, and the human body. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Braunschweig University of Art, where he graduated as a master’s student. Hartenstein’s works include multimedia installations that combine sculpture, performance, and video. They reflect on post-digital materiality and speculative futures, while questioning social norms, identity, and the commercialization of queer aesthetics. With a strongly material-based approach, he integrates translucent materials, synthetic fabrics, and coded pigments to explore future possibilities through historical narratives and contemporary technology. His works have been exhibited internationally, including at the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin, the Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (Extended), Studio Berlin/Berghain/Boros Collection, the Berlinische Galerie, the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, and the Kunstmuseum Bonn.
