Schwebende Lücke at CHB, Berlin
Between the well-known narratives of our cities lie countless forgotten or yet to be told stories. These reveal hidden traces, fragmented memories, what cultural theorist Jan Assmann called the “floating gap”, and what could be seen as future archeology.
In this exhibition, five doctoral candidates — Zita Borbély, Om Bori, Luca Korodi, Anna Mészáros, and Andrea Szilák — explore these overlooked spaces between memory and history. Through diverse media like drawings, video installations, sculpture, and sound, they weave together non-linear narratives connecting Budapest and Berlin. Drawing inspiration from nature, traces of the urban landscape, and the fragments that remain beyond official histories, the artists create a shared space for alternative ways of remembering and experiencing place.
