Oscar Tuazon’s first solo exhibition in Mexico, “Sun Mirror Moon,” will grace the halls of General Expenses in collaboration with Cibrián, remaining open to the public until June 2026. Following the recent conclusion of CONDO Mexico (April 23–26), this exhibition invites audiences into a profound exploration of energy and existence, bridging two dedicated programs committed to conceptual and material discourse.
In “Sun Mirror Moon,” the dialogue unfolds through installations that evoke the surplus energy oscillating between the Sun and the Earth, a gift that transcends human productivity and exchange. While traditional economic models seek to convert energy into output, Tuazon’s work contemplates what exists in the “remainder,” embracing the ineffable escapes of function. Utilizing industrial materials and open structures, the exhibition transforms the viewer from a passive observer into an engaged participant, inviting them to partake in this exploration of existence.
Oscar Tuazon (b. 1975, Seattle) is an artist captivated by construction processes, reflecting on the boundaries of resistance and purpose. His practice has long centered on the Water School project, an innovative artwork and experimental platform dedicated to fostering collaborative dialogue surrounding water and indigenous ecology. Tuazon’s artistic ethos reveals a profound belief that water connects us all, highlighting that lessons of environmental stewardship are universally vital.

Vehicles of intensity increasingly displace the object, rigorously extinguishing all signification, appearing only fleetingly in the moment of transaction as luminescence trapped in liquid petroleum. And yet the infinite energy of the sun remains available, unowned, a flash on the mirror’s surface.
We are here to make the chaos and the disorder more terrible than it has ever been. [1]

traces of urgency
and transformation
amidst driftwood.
A shrouded blade, unrepeatable now and proud.

refracted your pearled voice:
