FUSA is a body of sculptural works developed during a month-long residency at Officina in Montefollonico, Tuscany. Taking its point of departure from the town’s textile history—its former name, Monte a Follonica, referring to the Fullones, artisans engaged in the washing and dyeing of cloth—the project extends an ongoing investigation into the body as a site of material memory and transformation.

Constructed from discarded domestic textiles collected in the town, the sculptures inhabit an unstable territory between body, architecture and skin. Neither costumes nor monuments, they exist as temporary anatomies—soft structures that evoke shelters, moults, organs and embodied archives. Their forms remain deliberately indeterminate, oscillating between feminine and non-human, intimate and monumental, suggesting bodies that are continuously shaped rather than fixed.

The sculptures were activated through a performative procession across the medieval town before returning to the chapel as autonomous sculptural bodies. Accompanied by voice, the procession unfolded as a slow choreography in which bodies, textiles and architecture briefly dissolved into one another.
